Unfortunately, Ronald Acuña Jr. needs an MRI on his groin after he was scheduled to play today. Hopefully this is precautionary, but if Ronald does miss any time, Drew Waters is an interesting name to potentially replace him.

If this is a IL situation for Acuña, Drew Waters is the only available position player currently on the 40-man roster. With that being said, if the Braves want to give Waters more time, they could put Piña on the 60-day IL to create a 40-man spot. https://t.co/wNKxrBxODn

Waters has been scorching hot in Gwinnett since returning from injury, slashing .321/.321/.536/.837 with two home runs. I’m not too sure that he is quite ready for the Show, but he would be a very exciting call up if Acuña does miss time. Maybe the Braves go with someone like Preston Tucker, Alex Dickerson, or Delino Deshields, but I wouldn’t count out Waters just yet.
