Due to the frustrations stemming from an inconsistent 2024 campaign, there is sure to be a facet of Braves Country that will rejoice because of this latest nugget from MLB insider Jon Heyman, who suggests Brian Snitker could be done managing within the next couple of years.

I’ll get this out of the way first, there’s zero percent chance the Braves are giving any kind of consideration to potentially axing Brian Snitker. Anybody who genuinely believes that should happen is moronic.
Has this season gone the way everybody expected? Absolutely not, and injuries are certainly not the only culprit, but the story of the 2024 campaign is not even finished. Who knows what happens between now and the end of October?
During this time in 2021, not many people expected the Braves to go on to win the World Series, and they did just that without Ronald Acuña Jr. Speaking of that 2021 run, Brian Snitker was absolutely brilliant from start to finish, managing circles around his counterpart in each round of the postseason.
Winning a World Series is the most difficult thing to do in all of sports, and it’s not even really close. There’s a reason nobody has repeated as champions in over two decades, and it’s even harder to do today with the expanded playoffs. The Braves postseason woes of the last two seasons surely don’t lie at the feet of the manager. They didn’t hit. You can’t win games if you don’t score runs. It’s that simple, and the same thing is happening right in front of our very eyes this regular season.
Brian Snitker is far from perfect. He’d probably tell you that with a chuckle, but he’s earned the right to manage the Atlanta Braves for as long as he desires, even if that may not be for much longer.
