There was a fantastic moment in the first inning of Tuesday night’s game. Ronald Acuña Jr. started off the party with a leadoff homer, the first of what felt like a million against the Twins, which landed in the Braves bullpen, prompting this celebration from the bullpen.

It’s great to see Chavez having fun after a scary incident that led to him being placed on the IL. He was able to avoid a serious injury, so he’ll be back eventually. However, Mark Bowman pointed out that while he’s progressing positively, Chavez will not return immediately when he is eligible.
Just noticed Jesse Chavez (bruised shin) was carried out to celebrate this homer. Chavez has improved, but he won't be ready to come off the injured list when eligible later this week. https://t.co/iMWrEys3MP

Chavez is eligible to come off the IL in a few days, but it’s starting to look like the Braves are going to let him rest up through the All-Star break.
The 39-year-old reliever is amid a career year, posting a 1.55 ERA and 1.3 WAR through 31 appearances. Healthy or not, Chavez deserves to be an All-Star, and hopefully, the rest of the league recognizes how critical he has been to the Braves success.
