We finally have some injury updates for some key bullpen guys going into the 2020 season:
Bullpen health updates:
Jacob Webb will make his spring debut tomorrow and A.J. Minter says he'll debut on Saturday. Chris Martin may learn his debut date after throwing a live BP today.— Mark Bowman (@mlbbowman) March 2, 2020
A.J. Minter is looking to bounce back after a rocky 2019, which ended after he was placed on the 60 day IL with elbow inflammation. He is a prime candidate to win a lefty spot out of this pen if he can keep it together, especially with Sean Newcomb looking to return to the rotation and Cole Hamels on the shelf.
Jacob Webb is the guy I’m most excited to see this offseason; he finished with a 1.39 ERA over 36 games last year before being shut with an elbow injury around July. He has a chance to be an X-Factor in an already stacked pen.
The last time we saw Chris Martin, he was pulled during the NLDS with an oblique problem before an unforgettable meltdown. Martin no doubt has a lot to prove — he signed a 2 year, $14 million dollar contract this offseason.
We’ll keep you posted with more updates on Martin as well as any other injury news
