In some pretty cool news, Atlanta has added a local team in the mess of minor league restructuring. In the wake of Rob Manfred’s decision, a lot of shuffling has gone on. I actually really like this move.

Gwinnett will remain the AAA site, Mississippi will retain AA, and Rome moves up to A Advanced to replace the Florida Fire Frogs. I’ve never been to Kissimmee, but I know how frustrating it was when we were trying to evaluate prospects and games got rained out consistently. Augusta is obviously a lot closer, so it’s nice to be able to go watch games closer to Atlanta. This isn’t official, but it seems the Jackets will be going from San Francisco to Atlanta. The Mississippi Braves are awesome and they have a rich history, but it would be even cooler to see Chattanooga become the new site for the Braves. Regardless, at least Minor League Baseball seems to be taking shape after we missed out on our favorite prospects for most of 2020.
