For the most part, Wednesday was a good day for the Braves. They clobbered the Marlins 14-6, winning their seventh game in nine tries. However, they did suffer a couple of scares. Kyle Wright and Michael Harris both left the game with injuries, and the initial reports are good on one and bad on the other.
The good news is Michael Harris, who suffered an awkward fall on a play at first, will not go on the Injured List. He left the game as a precaution and is day-to-day. The bad news is Kyle Wright will go on the Injured List. He re-aggravated his shoulder, which has already cost him time this season.

Hopefully, Harris will return to the lineup this weekend against the Orioles. Wright’s situation, on the other hand, is much more disturbing. Shoulder injuries can nag and can completely alter the path of a player’s career. It is promising that it didn’t hurt enough for Wright to want to exit the game, but the Braves did the right thing. You can’t win a World Series in May, and if there is anything bothering him at all, he needs to rest.
We’ll see who the Braves decide to roll with while Wright is on the IL. Dylan Dodd is scheduled to come up and pitch tomorrow. If he thrives, it’s fair to expect him to stick. However, if he runs into trouble, there’s a very good chance Mike Soroka might finally get his opportunity to return to Atlanta.
