Help is on the way, Braves fans. While Ian Anderson will likely only miss two starts, breakout pitcher Huascar Ynoa has been out since mid-May after punching the dugout and breaking his hand. Both guys could be getting back into Atlanta’s rotation soon:
#Braves' Huascar Ynoa (on IL past 2 months with broken hand) is scheduled to throw live batting practice this week and is on schedule to pitch in a game at the Florida complex next week.

Snitker on #Braves' Ian Anderson, who's on IL for shoulder inflammation and is to be re-evaluated in the next few days: "He’s feeling a lot better. He’s doing his exercises and all that right now, but he states that everything is calmed down and he feels a lot better.”

Getting Anderson back is huge; he has arguably been the steadiest presence in Atlanta’s rotation all season. I wasn’t worried about him, considering he’s only dealing with shoulder inflammation. However, Ynoa is a more intriguing addition. He appears to be on the same early-August timeline that we got a few weeks ago. With Atlanta’s bullpen struggling and no natural spot available, perhaps Ynoa could pitch out of the pen for a few weeks while he gets warmed back up. The Braves will still need to add some bullpen arms, but maybe Ynoa could fill that role when he returns. Hopefully, he’s effective, and the broken hand has no long-term effects.
