If the Braves can find a way to win Wednesday night, things will really be looking up for them just two days away from the trade deadline. That would put them just three games back in the division, and it looks like two of their best players are close to returning.
According to David O’Brien of The Athletic, Huascar Ynoa participated in a sim game, which went well, and he will start his rehab assignment next Tuesday. Snitker also noted that they are stretching him out to start; however, that could change if the team feels he can contribute the most out of the bullpen.
Huascar Ynoa’s sim game went well. He’ll begin rehab assignment Tuesday, affiliate to be determined. Snitker said for now they’ll get him stretched out to start, but added that could change based on team needs, etc.

Given that Ynoa hasn’t pitched since May, it will probably take him at least a couple of weeks to stretch out. So, I still wouldn’t expect him to pitch again for the Braves until the middle of August. Travis d’Arnaud, on the other hand, could be in Atlanta much sooner than that. He is set to begin his rehab assignment in Gwinnett this weekend.
Travis d’Arnaud will start his rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett this weekend at Memphis.

As long as he doesn’t suffer from any setbacks, I expect to see him in a Braves uniform next week, especially considering just how desperate the Braves currently are behind the plate.
