The Braves have shown interest in a hometown kid who plays for a division rival:
Phillies, Braves, Brewers and Yankees are among teams to have shown the most interest in Zack Wheeler. 2 division rivals, the ny rival and milw. In any case, no one has met the asking price. If nothing changes, may well stay in queens.

Heyman’s tweet should come as no surprise. The Braves have made it clear that they want another starter but giving up long-term assets for Wheeler is not a smart move. Injuries have derailed Wheeler’s fast-track to becoming a star in this league, and while he is worth a flier, the Braves simply have a plethora of arms that are close to the big leagues with similar and higher upside and Wheeler is a free agent in 2020.
It is nice to see the Braves doing their due diligence here, but a deal definitely does not seem imminent for Wheeler.
