With the Coronavirus slowly shutting down the entire country, athletes around the world have shown their generosity, pledging millions of dollars to help fight the pandemic. On Wednesday, Braves star first baseman, Freddie Freeman, became the latest to join the cause, donating $125,000 to three different charities that will help people in need during these unfortunate circumstances.
Atlanta Braves star Freddie Freeman has pledged to donate $50,000 to the Atlanta Food Bank, $50,000 to Giving Kitchen — which provides emergency assistance to food-service workers — and $25,000 to the Salvation Army, all to assist in the fallout from the coronavirus crisis.

Know Freddie, a gesture like this almost seems like second nature, but they should never be taken for granted. The amount of generosity shown by athletes during these trying times has truly been remarkable. Actions like these will not only get teams back to their respective arenas quicker but more importantly, they will save lives. Kudos to Freeman for once again showing what a tremendous person he is off the field, and why the city of Atlanta is lucky to have him as a cornerstone piece to their franchise.
