I’m not always big on fan votes. Take the NBA, for example; they rarely get it right. But this time, it worked in the Braves’ favor, as the fans picked Ronald Acuna to win the 2022 NL MVP.

I think this says more about the Braves fan base more than anything. Nobody is more ready for the start of the season than the fans of the World Series champs, and they can’t wait to see their favorite player retake the field.
Had Acuna not torn his ACL in early July, there’s little doubt in my mind that he would have taken home the NL MVP award. He was well on his way to hitting 40+ home runs and stealing close to 40 bases. Acuna is the most electric player in the game today, and even though he will likely miss at least a month of the upcoming season, I still think there’s a great chance he takes home the award.
