Eddie Rosario returned to the field this past weekend, beginning his rehab stint with the Gwinnett Stripers, where he looked sharp. On Saturday, Rosario went 1-for-4, and he tallied two more hits to go along with a couple of RBIs in six at-bats yesterday.
That’s pretty significant because even though it’s not major-league pitching, AAA is no walk in the park, and Rosario already has three hits, which is just as many as he had in his first 44 at-bats to start the season with the Braves. It was overwhelmingly apparent that there was an issue; an offensive player of Rosario’s caliber rarely experiences stretches where they look that hopeless in the batter’s box. So far, it seems like the surgery was a success, which means the left-handed bat the Braves are searching for could arrive much sooner than expected.
