One of the best players on the MLB Free Agent Market has been linked to Atlanta.
The Yankees are slow playing DJ LeMahieu — as the league slow plays its free agents generally — and DJ has just about had it. Source tells @TBrownYahoo the star hitter has told his reps to talk to other teams.https://t.co/Zb1D5rp3BM pic.twitter.com/OotSoUveHL

Alex Anthopoulos loves to kick the tires on any name available, but LeMahieu would make a lot of sense. He can play third base, which is about the only spot I could see him having on the infield. LeMahieu has had a very impressive past few seasons. He’s won two batting titles, two Silver Slugger awards, and three Gold Gloves.
LeMahieu hit .348 in 2016, then hit an insane .364 with a .421 OBP & 1.011 OPS in 2020. Over his last two seasons with the Yankees, LeMahieu has finished top 4 twice in MVP voting. Including a shortened 2020 season (195 games), DJ has posted:
.346/.398/.555/.952, 36 HRs, 43 doubles, 4 triples, & 129 RBI
Needless to say, I’d be very excited if Atlanta was to ink him to a deal.
