In a bit of somber news, the Braves decided to move on from Touki Toussaint today after reinstating Jay Jackson to the 40-man roster.
The #Braves today returned RHP Jay Jackson from his rehabilitation assignment, reinstated him from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett. To make room on the 40-man roster, Atlanta designated RHP Touki Toussaint for assignment.

It’s very good news that Jackson is nearing a return. The Braves need another right-handed reliever with all of the injuries they’ve suffered this season. However, letting Toussaint go stings a little.
Toussaint had a 6.26 ERA and 1.61 WHIP in Gwinnett and seemingly continued to regress, but the former first-round pick had some moments with the Braves where he looked unhittable. Still 26-years-old, hopefully he can catch on somewhere and figure it out. When he was on, he had the stuff to be an elite pitcher at the top level.
