Cristian Pache left yesterday’s blowout loss to the Marlins after four innings with a groin strain and did not return. The hope is that it was just precautionary, but it appears to be a little more than that. Following the game, the team announced that they have placed him on the 10-day IL.

As O’Brien mentions in the Tweet, the Braves have yet to announce who will take his place. Guillermo Heredia makes the most sense because he is currently on the 40-man roster, but regardless, whoever fills Pache’s spot will likely serve as a bench piece.
Ender Inciarte should be in line to become the starting center fielder. Typically, that would come with a collective groan from Braves Country, but considering the way Pache has hit thus far — .133 batting average with a .361 OPS and 13 strikeouts in 30 at-bats — there’s no way Inciarte can be any worse at the plate.
