A couple of nights ago, Orlando Arcia pulled up on his way to second base with a hamstring injury. He has since been added to the 10-day Injured List.

Hamstring injuries are tricky. A pull might only require a couple of weeks to heal, but a tear could take months. And no matter what, there’s always a risk for re-injury, so it’s imperative that players take time to recover completely before returning.
Initially, I thought the injury to Arcia could be season-ending. He couldn’t even walk off the field on his own power, but thankfully, it looks like we could see him back in time for the playoffs.
Through interpreter Franco GarcÃa, Orlando Arcia said the Braves told him he might be able to return in three or four weeks.

Three to four weeks would put Arcia back on the field in early September. But given the nature of hamstring injuries, it will likely be much longer than that. The Braves won’t rush Arcia, but I do think it’s possible that he returns before the end of the season.
It will likely be the end of September, which would give him the opportunity to contribute in the postseason. Arcia filled in valiantly for Ozzie Albies and is undoubtedly deserving of a spot on the 26-man roster.
