More bad news for the Braves regarding Cole Hamels: the veteran lefty was unable to throw in his side session today because of tricep tendinitis.

Although this could be just a minor issue, it’s troubling for a 36-year-old to experience any arm issue, especially one that is already dealing with a shoulder injury. It’s looking more and more likely that Hamels won’t be ready to start the season, and to be honest, who knows if he ever will. Initially, he was supposed to be back around the first week of April. It’s now the second week of July. Understandably, the Braves are taking things cautiously, but its starting to look like he might not be at full strength until halfway through this shortened season… at the earliest.
