Without Chris Martin, the Braves bullpen has been starving for right-handed options. He was injured in just his second appearance of the season and has yet to return, but fortunately, it looks like he could be on his way to Atlanta sooner rather than later. David O’Brien of The Athletic reports that Martin will have a short rehab assignment with the Gwinnett Stripers before returning to the Braves.
Chris Martin will have a brief rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett before he rejoins the #Braves. He’s missed a month with shoulder inflammation.

Hopefully, there are no setbacks because the Braves really can’t afford any. They are losers of four straight, and all facets of their game seem to be discombobulated. The offense is slumping, the starting pitching is unreliable, and the bullpen has been abominable, especially from the right side. Martin was one of Atlanta’s most reliable relievers last season, posting a 1.00 ERA over 18 innings. His presence will add some much-needed stability in the later innings.
