Charlie Culberson has had an interesting stint with the Braves of late. He was designated for assignments on Father’s Day, when his dad was supposed to throw out the first pitch. Unsurprisingly, he cleared waivers, and the Braves out-righted him to Gwinnett; expect instead, Culberson elected free agency instead.
It looked as if Charlie Clutch wanted to search for an opportunity to receive some playing time at the major-league level. That’s not going to happen in Atlanta, but for whatever reason, Culberson has had a change of heart, as he inked anything minor-league deal with the Braves.

It’s good to see Culberson back where he belongs, and it might not be long before he is back with the Braves now that Sean Murphy is healthy.
As the article also notes, Seth Elledge has inked a minor-league deal with the Braves as well. He was with the organization earlier in the season before being designated for assignment. Elledge last appeared in the majors in 2021 with the Cardinals, recording a 4.63 ERA over 11 appearances.
