Yesterday, we got the news that Orlando Arcia had a microfracture in his wrist and would be headed to the IL. Today, the Braves gave us a little bit of good news:
The #Braves today recalled INF Vaughn Grissom to Atlanta and placed INF Orlando Arcia on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left wrist.

Only ten days is a big sigh of relief. Nick Castellanos hit the IL with a wrist microfracture last season and missed multiple weeks. Vaughn Grissom has been tearing the cover off of the baseball in AAA, but Arcia has been equally as good in the majors. His defense has been fantastic, but he also has a .911 OPS with two home runs. Grissom has been terrorizing AAA pitching to the tune of a 1.043 OPS with five extra base hits and two stolen bases.
Perhaps Grissom could stick as a DH or in left field when Arcia returns, but the Braves need to get healthy, and this is a big sigh of relief that Arcia won’t miss multiple months.
