After trading for him in April, the Braves have finally called up utility man Orlando Arcia.
The #Braves today recalled Orlando Arcia to Atlanta after optioning LHP Kyle Muller to Triple-A Gwinnett following yesterday’s game.

In a corresponding move, the Braves optioned Kyle Muller to Gwinnett, who started yesterday’s game. Expect to see a lot more of Muller, but because of the way the schedule shakes out, they won’t need a fifth starter before the All-Star break.
Arcia has been a star for the Stripers, hitting .303 with 13 homers — good for a .932 OPS. It will be interesting to see how the Braves use him. He’s a shortstop by trade but can play all over the outfield and even got some reps in left field with Gwinnett. Perhaps we could see him start there in place of Abraham Almonte, who has really struggled both at the plate and in the field. At the very least, Arcia will boost Atlanta’s bench, which is another area they desperately need to improve upon.
