Braves kick off their Spring Training slate on Saturday against the Boston Red Sox, and they’ve named their starting pitcher, Kolby Allard.
Kolby Allard will start Saturday’s Grapefruit League opener for the Braves.

Allard is making his return to the Braves, where he was once a top prospect before he was traded to the Rangers for Chris Martin a few years ago. He’s apart of the crop of pitchers that is competing for the fifth and final spot in the rotation. He’s a long shot to make the roster over guys like Ian Anderson, Bryce Elder, and Mike Soroka. However, Allard was a first-round pick for a reason, and the Braves believe he can offer something to the team this season. Im excited to see him take the mound again with a tomahawk across his chest.
