The Braves announced a couple of roster moves ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Yankees. The first came this morning and was expected. Ozzie Albies hits the IL with a hamstring strain. In a corresponding move, Vaughn Grissom was recalled to the active roster.
The #Braves today recalled INF Vaughn Grissom to Atlanta and placed INF Ozzie Albies on the 10-day injured list, backdated to August 14, with a strained left hamstring.

I don’t believe Albies’ injury is too serious, but with an 11.5-game lead in the division, the Braves aren’t going to take any chances with their All-Star second baseman. Nicky Lopez will start at second base tonight, but I expect he and Grissom to get opportunities in Albies’ absence. The Braves didn’t call up a talent like Grissom just for him to sit on the bench for the next two-plus weeks.
The other move came about an hour ago when the Braves announced Lucas Williams will be replacing Forrest Wall on the roster.
The #Braves today also recalled OF Lucas Williams to Atlanta and optioned OF Forrest Wall to Gwinnett.

Williams has some decent numbers in AAA this season, hitting .259 with 12 homers. He brings a little more pop to the table than Wall, who is more known for his speed, but I don’t expect Williams to get many opportunities at the plate unless an injury arises.
