Soon after it was announced that the Braves had settled with Jarred Kelenic to avoid arbitration, news followed that the same thing happened with Dylan Lee. Per the Braves official Twitter/X, the two sides agreed to a deal worth $1.025 million.
Per MLB Trade Rumors, Lee’s projected arb salary was $1.2 million, and at that rate, he’s a bargain. His 2023 season ended with a shoulder injury, and he bounced back in a big way this past season.
Over 59.2 innings, Lee posted an impressive 2.11 ERA and 197 ERA+ (97% above league average). When healthy, the southpaw has quietly been rock solid in the Atlanta bullpen. Lee recorded a 2.13 ERA in 50.2 innings back in 2022, his last healthy season prior to 2024.
With the potential loss of A.J. Minter, Dylan Lee could see many more high-leverage situations this year, especially if the Braves don’t go out and get another high-leverage arm from the left side.
