One of the most beloved Braves of the rebuild has found a new home with the Baltimore Orioles as Jon Heyman reports that Julio Teheran has inked a minor league pact with an invite to major league camp.

Teherán made a pair of All-Star teams in 2014 and 2016 with the Braves and looked like he was going to be a mainstay in Atlanta’s rotation as they came out of their rebuild.
Unfortunately for him and the Braves, his control began to falter near the end of his time in Atlanta. Eventually, he moved on to Anaheim in 2020 and was awful for the Angels, pitching to the tune of a 10.05 ERA in 10 games. By 2022, he was out of the MLB altogether.
Teherán was able to catch on with the Brewers last year and did pretty well. Over 14 games, he threw 71.2 innings, struck out 50, and had a 4.40 ERA. It’s not exactly the most impressive stat line, but that’ll play for a club that needs an innings eater at the back of their rotation or a long reliever.
Braves fans probably all hope that he works out in Baltimore. The Orioles are a young, exciting club that any fan can root for; if we are lucky, Julio Teherán will be able to contribute at the major league level this year.
