The J.T Realmuto saga has gone on for months now, and the only thing that was clear coming into today is that the Braves are still very much interested in the All-Star catcher.

Now, it appears the Marlins are inching towards a potential deal, as Marlins beat reporter, Joe Frisaro, reports that Miami is in the ‘advanced stages’ of trade talks with several teams.

Frisaro describes the teams involved as a ‘clear Final Four’ with the Reds, Padres, Braves, and Dodgers all still in the mix.

It has been reported in the past that the Braves have the prospects that the Marlins are most interested in, but with the Padres entering the mix over the last few weeks, that could have changed.

San Diego is also set to meet with Bryce Harper in the coming days, signaling that they are indeed planning on competing as early as next season.

Realmuto hit .277 last year with 21 home runs and 74 RBIs in only 125 games. He’s widely regarded as the best catcher in all of baseball and will be under team control for two more seasons.

This is a situation that appears to be finally coming to an end. Stay tuned for more details.
