Earlier on MLB Network’s High Heat, Braves GM Alex Anthopoulos gave Atlanta fans some insight into the offseason:
Anthopoulos also said that it's too early to know if Acuña might be ready by beginning of the season, or if return date could go into May. And he said timetable on Soroka return is loose, mentioning July as possibility since it's a one-year return usually from Achilles surgery.

This is in line with my personal prediction, I still don’t think the Braves would roster Acuña to start 2022. For starters, they won’t really need him, and the risk of re-injury is too high to play around with a franchise player like that. I also said that July post-All Star Break would be the earliest we would see Mike Soroka. Same situation as Acuña, you likely don’t need him and especially with Soroka — the risk of re-injury is too high.
I’m no doctor, but it’s nice to see the Braves playing it safe with two key players. I’d rather have them for the stretch run and evaluate some younger talent in the meantime.
