The Braves gave Adam Duvall another chance after his subpar stint with the team in 2018. Unfortunately, he has not fared too much better in extended sprint training action with the team. It was clear that the Braves would wait and see if another fourth outfielder option would get cut, and now they have brought that guy on board in Matt Joyce.
Confirmed @extrabaggs' report that OF Matt Joyce will be joining the Braves. Joyce, who was just released by the Giants, will sign a Minor League deal with Atlanta

Through the years, Joyce has been everything you would want from a fourth outfielder. He has some pop in his bat and can handle extended time if needed at the big league level. He hits the ball hard and had tremendous plate discipline. However, like Adam Duvall, he is coming off a down season himself. The Braves would mark the third team for Joyce just this Spring Training. The Indians took a flier on him, and the Giants recently signed him to a minor league deal.
It is unclear what this will mean for Adam Duvall at this time. They could cut him in the coming days or place one of these two in the minor leagues and wait things out. However, things are signaling more towards Joyce handling the 4th outfield spot, with Charlie Culberson and Johan Camargo in the mix for playing time as well.
