At the buzzer, it was announced the Braves have also acquired Jorge Soler from the Royals.
Jorge Soler traded to Braves

Soler is a true three outcome player — strikeout, home run, or walk. Out of nowhere, he went off for the Royals in 2019, mashing a major-league leading 48 bombs, which led to a .922 OPS. Of course, he also led the league in strikeouts. Ever since though, Soler has been pretty awful. He’s hitting just .192 this season and has accrued -1.2 WAR; however, he’s been hot of late, recording six homers in his last nine games. Hopefully, that’s the version of Soler the Braves get down the stretch run.
In return, the Royals receive Kasey Kalich — their 2019 4th round pick. Kalich has had success in the minors; he currently boasts a 3.26 ERA in 20 appearances for Rome, but he’s a long way away from the majors and is a relief arm. This is another addition that cost the Braves next to nothing in terms of prospects.
