The Braves decided to shake things up before a showdown with the NL’s best team, the Los Angeles Dodgers. Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports that the team has signed Adeiny Hechavarria who was recently waived by the Mets. In a corresponding move, both Adam Duvall and Johan Camargo have been optioned to Gwinnett. They also recalled Bryse Wilson.

Hechavarria is nothing to write home about with the bat. He hit .204 in New York before being released and is a career .252 hitter with an on-base percentage well below .300, but he is an above-average defensive shortstop. Not only was Johan Camargo struggling to hit his weight, but he was equally as ineffective in the field. Hopefully, this stint in Gwinnett will do some good for his confidence, and he can come back and play a role for this team down the stretch.
Adam Duvall was the hot man in Atlanta for about a week, but over his last 13 games, he’s hitting .116 with one extra-base hit in 43 at-bats.
