This continues my series of potential 2023 free agent targets for the Braves. As a reminder, this is just a list of what’s available, with a few initial thoughts. I’ll be diving much deeper into all of the candidates as the offseason continues. I’ll also only be covering positions where the Braves have needs. There is no reason to talk about free agent third baseman when Atlanta has Austin Riley locked up for the next decade.
If you missed any of the previous editions of this series, follow the links below:

- Xander Bogaerts
- Elvis Andrus

- Alcides Escobar
- Dee Strange-Gordon

You’ll hear this from me a lot this offseason: there is next to nothing the Braves will be interested in at shortstop outside of the top four guys. Trea Turner, Carlos Correa, Xander Bogaerts, and Dansby Swanson are four of the best shortstops in the game and are set to be paid handsomely. But outside of that, there are no other starting-caliber players, which means Atlanta will have to dole out some serious cash if they want to fill their hole at shortstop in free agency. They could always look at the trade market for a stopgap option, but I have a feeling most of their money is going to be tied down to one of those top four options. We are just going to have to wait and see which one.
