The Gwinnett Stripers have announced their Opening Day roster for 2022, and there’s probably a name Braves fans were expecting that’s missing from the fold:

Drew Waters is one of the big names in Gwinnett that fans were excited to see, but it seems he’s going to begin 2022 on the Injured List, probably for only ten days. I can’t think of any other reason he wouldn’t be starting the season with the Stripers.
Another omission is that of top prospect Michael Harris, who will begin the season in AA, which isn’t surprising. The Braves have no reason to rush him, but I expect Harris to work his way up to AAA at some point this season, even if it is at the end. There are still plenty of guys on this roster to be excited about —Â Bryce Elder, Kyle Muller, and Thomas Burrows could be in Atlanta sooner rather than later.
