Punters aren’t typically even acknowledged by most fans, let alone beloved. Thomas Morstead is one of the rare cases at the position; he is widely loved by Saints fans. Ironically, the Falcons’ most hated rival must sit idly by as the veteran punter boots the ball around the field in red and black. And he is booting them; Morstead was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month, which is a bit weird even for Morstead himself.

Morstead been outstanding during his brief time in Atlanta; during the month of December, Morstead has dropped six of his 11 punts inside the 20-yard line while averaging 49 yards per punt. I doubt Saints fans are missing him too much. Blake Gillikin is a fantastic punter who actually won the same award in October after booting 10 of his 17 punts inside the opponents’ red zone that month. Still, it’s hilarious that Morstead is murdering balls in a Falcons uniform; it’s the little things, folks.
