The world is laughing at the Atlanta Falcons, and it’s not just fans. Members of the media and even NFL GMs are taking their turn to get in on the fun.
When asked about the Falcons drafting Michael Penix Jr. with the 8th pick, Bears GM Ryan Poles couldn’t help himself but laugh.

There are a few things about this that I want to talk about.
First, Poles knows that he’s one of the most watched men in the league at this point. Following a first round in which he took Caleb Wiliams 1st overall and Rome Odunze after the Falcons pick, Poles knew he was going to be in the spotlight.
Even still, he decides to laugh. It’s very unprofessional and could come back to bite him and Chicago in the ass, but it’s more embarrassing for the Falcons. I have literally never seen another GM laugh at one of his own in such an open forum.
Secondly, this is the Chicago Bears we are talking about. This isn’t some ultra-successful franchise like the Green Bay Packers. There hasn’t been much winning in that city recently, yet they have the audacity to laugh at the Falcons? Yeah, that just goes to show what everyone thinks about this draft pick.
The Falcons are the bane of my existence, and it has nothing to do with Michael Penix Jr. as a prospect and has everything to do with the process in which we found ourselves here.
I’ve never been less confident in this organization, and if I were Kirk Cousins, I would be foaming at the mouth to rip Terry Fontenot and Raheem Morris a new one.
“You just signed me to a $100 million guaranteed deal and you spend the most valuable draft pick on a guy that doesn’t make us better?”
I would be beside myself if I were Cousins. I hate that Poles, who has had virtually no success as an NFL GM, is laughing at Fontenot and the Falcons, but I can’t blame him.
