The Falcons are easily the most improved team in the league this offseason.
No, I’m not claiming they’re the best club. I’m saying from 2023 to 2024, no team has experienced more improvement on paper because the Falcons went from one of the worst situations to the best at the most important position in the sport.
Going from Desmond Ridder to Kirk Cousins could very well be the most dramatic change at quarterback in recent history.
The Falcons had minimal expectations before the signing. Raheem Morris couldn’t be expected to improve upon his successor’s results without a sufficient upgrade at signal caller.
When Terry Fontenot went out and got the best available option, those expectations shifted drastically. Not only are the Falcons expected to win the division now, but they’re also expected to experience some kind of postseason success.
It’s not just fans being delusional either. Vegas is telling you to take the Falcons seriously. Their odds of winning the Super Bowl are currently 30-1, which is in the same ballpark as the Jets and Rams.
Moreover, their win total may shock some Falcons fans. Atlanta’s current win total is 10.5, which is the same as the Eagles, Bills, Bengals, and Lions as well as higher than the Packers, Dolphins, and Cowboys, according to BetOnline.

Falcons (10.5)

Kirk Cousins may not be a Hall of Fame quarterback, but he’s good enough to make the Falcons legitimate contenders.
The last time that Atlanta won more than 10 games was in 2016 when Matt Ryan won MVP and took the team to the Super Bowl. That’s territory that every Falcons fan can get excited about.
