The boost the Braves’ bullpen needs is set to return to Atlanta this Friday after several rehab appearances in Gwinnett.
Arodys Vizcaino will be good to go Friday. #Braves

In three appearances with the Stripers, he has yet to allow a run.
Before being sent to the DL in mid-July with shoulder soreness, Vizcaino served at the Braves closer. He appeared in 33 games, throwing 32.2 innings with a 1.65 ERA and 15 saves. His power arm at the end of the bullpen will allow the likes of Minter, Brach, and Winkler to pitch in more natural set-up situations.
Gabe Burns of the AJC also reported that Jose Ramirez will be shut down for the remainder of the season. Like Vizcaino, Ramirez hit the DL with shoulder soreness early in the season. Both joined Gwinnett in hopes they would be healthy enough to help the Braves over this playoff push. Thankfully, it does not appear Ramirez suffered a setback. The Braves just do not believe he will be ready to contribute this season. By spring training, he is expected to be good to go.
