With the addition of Raisel Iglesias, the Braves bullpen is already stacked, and they will be getting even deeper. Kirby Yates could join the team as early as today, but at the latest, I expect him to be added to the active roster by the end of the week. He’s been lights out during his rehab assignment with the Stripers, and he’s not the only reliever the Braves could potentially have back before long. Darren O’Day began his rehab assignment last week, and he has recently been transferred to AAA Gwinnett.
The #Braves today transferred RHP Darren O’Day’s major league rehabilitation assignment to Triple-A Gwinnett.

So far, Darren O’Day has made one appearance for the Rome Braves since returning from injury, pitching a scoreless inning with a strikeout. If things continue to trend in this direction, he could also be ready to return to Atlanta as soon as the end of the week.
However, I’m not quite sure what the Braves’ plan is with Darren O’Day. Despite an incredible track record, he hasn’t been very good this season. Father Time appears to finally be catching up to him, and it’s difficult to imagine that they would hold onto him yet include Jesse Chavez, who has been far more reliable, in a trade. Once Yates is back, I’m not sure there is a spot on the 26-man roster for O’Day, but the Braves will probably hang onto him in case of injury.
