The roster most notably includes AJ Griffin ahead of his second year. Jalen Johnson, however, will not be playing this summer. All three of this year’s draftees are included, and Miles Norris will be playing after signing a two-way contract a week ago. Tyrese Martin (Appeared in 16 games for the Hawks last season) and Vit Krejci (Appeared in 29 games for the Hawks last season) are also among players rostered.
With the recent additions of TyTy Washington Jr. and Usman Garuba, it is possible we may get to see them suit up as well. However, their contracts will not be official until July 6th, the day before Summer League begins. So, though they aren’t in the initial roster release for this reason, there’s still a chance they head to Las Vegas once they officially sign. Garuba has much more NBA experience than Washington Jr., so it would be more likely to see Washington Jr. play this summer as a late addition.
The Hawks will not be playing in Sacramento or Salt Lake City, but they will be in the NBA 2K24 Summer League in Las Vegas. All 30 NBA teams will play and the games will be split between two venues: Cox Pavilion and the Thomas and Mack Center. Both are located on UNLV’s campus.
The schedule is as follows:
Fri, 7/7 | Hawks vs Kings | 10:30 PM EST | COX
Sun, 7/9 | Nuggets vs Hawks | 9:30 PM EST | COX
Wed, 7/12 | Hawks vs Timberwolves | 4:00 PM EST | T&M
Thurs, 7/13 | 76ers vs Hawks | 3:30 PM EST | COX
If the Hawks finish as a top-two team after these four games, they will then play in the championship game on July 17th. However, they are guaranteed a 5th game regardless of their standing. That game will be played on the 16th or 17th. For a complete guide to the Summer League format, read this article posted on the official NBA website.
