The reigning National Champion Georgia Bulldogs are the first team to repeat in the College Football Playoff era. The celebration in Atlanta, Athens, and all over the state is just beginning as the festivities continue. But it will be short-lived for those in and around the facilities, chiefly Kirby Smart and his staff.
College football is a 24/7, 365 job, especially how Smart approaches it. He’s likely already mulling over essential decisions for the 2023 season, and undeniably, the Dawgs will have everyone in the country gunning for them.
Georgia is expected to return six starters on both sides of the ball, with some pretty impactful players departing. Jalen Carter, Kelee Ringo, Broderick Jones, Stetson Bennett, Christopher Smith, and Darnell Washington, to name a few.
However, just as we saw last year when the Bulldogs sent a record-breaking number of prospects to the NFL Draft, the program reloads; they don’t rebuild. Smart has several impactful players coming into the program — Rara Thomas, Dominic Lovett, Samuel M’Pemba, and Damon Wilson, among others. Carson Beck is set to replace Bennett, and maybe the best player on the team in Brock Bowers is returning.
So, where do national outlets have the Georgia Bulldogs ranked in their way to early 2023 rankings?

Wherever you look, Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs are heralded as the top team in the nation, as they should be. What that man has built in Athens is absolutely incredible. There isn’t a better program right now than UGA at recruiting and developing talent. And if you look at Georgia’s 2023 schedule, a three-peat is undoubtedly in the realm of possibilities. It’s not a dynasty yet, but Kirby and the Dawgs are knocking on the door.
