After being designated for assignment again, it appears that Charlie Culberson is finally leaving the organization following a literal up-and-down season.

Culberson has been designated for assignment more times than he has seen the field in 2023. He had been on the Braves roster for about two months and only got one pinch hit plate appearance on July 16th. Culberson wasn’t doing that great in Gwinnett, and the Braves have no need for him after picking up Nicky Lopez from the Royals. I’m sure there’s no hard feelings; Culberson knew the deal, and the Braves were happy to keep him around as an emergency option.
Charlie Clutch’s presence will be missed in Atlanta. I’m not sure if he gets another opportunity, but if he doesn’t, he has had one of the more fun careers in recent memory.
