Two more Georgia Bulldogs enter the transfer portal

The last six months have been a whirlwind for Georgia Bulldogs receiver Nitro Tuggle. Following the SEC Championship game, he put his name into the transfer portal after not getting much playing time as a true freshman. He appeared in just eight games for the Bulldogs, recording three catches for 34 yards. However, a day later, he removed his name from the transfer portal.

Nitro Tuggle was set to compete for a bigger role in 2025 this spring in a wide receiver room that looks much more complete than a year ago after the additions of Noah Thomas and Zachariah Branch, but things took a turn for the worse when he became the latest Georgia Bulldogs player to get arrested for speeding and reckless driving. As a result, Kirby Smart suspended Tuggle indefinitely, which likely played a part in this decision.

According to Hayes Fawcett of ON3, Nitro Tuggle is the latest Georgia Bulldog to enter his name into the transfer portal, joining running back Branson Robinson.

Along with Tuggle, offensive lineman Marques Easley, a former four-star recruit in the 2024 class, is also entering the transfer portal.

Easley was suspended indefinitely as well after he was arrested for crashing his car into an apartment complex the same week Nitro Tuggle was arrested for speeding. It’s no surprise that these two are departing from the program at the same time, and it might not have even been their choice.

Losing an explosive young wide receiver oozing with potential like Tuggle is a blow for the Bulldogs, but their wide receiver corps heading into 2025 is in a far better spot than it has been in quite some time. Easley didn’t receive much playing time as a freshman, but not many do across the offensive line in Athens. With so many key pieces across the offensive front departing for the NFL, his loss could be felt a little deeper.
