George Kittle is arguably the best tight end in football, even after an injury-riddled 2020 season. He’s unquestionably the most balanced tight end, one who is as effective blocking as he is receiving. So when someone of his caliber compliments the Falcons’ fourth overall pick, fans should take notice.
“I believe that he should have been drafted first overall, just for fun, because I think he’s probably the best athlete in the draft and he has been for a while,” Kittle said in an interview Heavy.
The 6’6″, 245-pound freak ran his 40-yard dash in a remarkable 4.44 seconds, recorded a 10’9″ broad jump and a 33.5-inch vertical leap at his Florida pro day. However, the most impressive measurement had to be his wingspan, which is over 83 inches and is longer than any other wide receiver or tight end that has been measured at the NFL combine in the last 20 years. Kittle knows Pitts’ ceiling is astronomical because of all these physical gifts too.
“I’ve talked to him a little bit over social media, but he seems like he has his head on straight. He’s got an unreal set of skills and I think he’s gonna be pretty legit out there. So, I’m excited to see him work and excited to see how his brain works. I think he’s gonna have a great rookie year, it’s going to be great.” Kittle said.
The more and more we see of Pitts, the more we will see his peers praise him. He’ll soon take the title “Your favorite player’s favorite player” from Julio Jones. Its a little hyperbolic, but Pitts has Hall of Fame potential — something the league truly has never seen at his position.
